Week 5 – The Irresistible Force Paradox
“What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?” – well we found out on Sunday when Erling Haaland faced the Arsenal defence and it didn’t disappoint, what a game !
Another goal for E. Haaland (£8.5m) but points for Arsenal defenders via goals for R. Calafiori (£4.2m) and G. Magalhaes (£4.3m) – we’ll call this one a draw in Fantasy Football terms !
Haaland has now proven he can and probably will score against ANY defence, TFF gamers are now realising this and any initial non-believers are likely now frantically adjusting their sides to get him in, as always check out the Player Stats Portal :-
Haaland is now in 60% of teams, eclipsing C. Palmer (£5.8m) who’s in 58% of teams.
Arsenal’s shipping of two goals has led to another weekly swap in the Team of the Season to clean-sheeting Liverpool:-
Although Gabriel’s goal witnesses him keeping his spot and with 2 goals now already this season:-
and priced at a reasonable £4.3 mil, along with Arsenal’s relatively good forthcoming run of fixtures, especially the next two games:-
we’ll likely see a lot of gamers transferring Gabriel into their sides…
Let’s turn our attention to West London. N. Jackson (£4.0m) was the Player of the Week with a brace of goals and 15 points and M. Caicedo (£3.6m) joined him in the Team of the Week. Last week’s Player of the Week was also from Chelsea – R. Sanchez (£3.4m) and of course C. Palmer (£5.8m) is second only to B. Saka (£5.8m) in number of weeks in the Team of the Season.
Chelsea, much like Arsenal have good fixtures for the next two weeks but, their schedule then turns very tough with away fixtures at Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal.
Brentford on the other hand have the easiest next six fixtures out of all the sides, Fulham have tough forthcoming fixtures.
That said, Chelsea are now in second place (behind Liverpool but ahead of both Arsenal and Man City) in terms of Fantasy Football Points and Goals. They top the Assists charts and are joint fifth on goals conceded.
Aside from the keeper, Sanchez, it would appear the best choices for Chelsea players would be their midfielders/strikers, the same being the case for any Brentford or Fulham players:-
All well priced, our favorites from West London would be B. Mbuemo (£3.9m) based on forthcoming fixtures and the long term injury to Y. Wissa (£3.3m) means he is likely to lead the Brentford front line.
N. Jackson (£4.0m), R. Sanchez (£3.4m) and E. Smith-Rowe (£3.0m) could also be great picks, albeit with harder forthcoming fixtures, these three are all at the top in terms of Pts Per £m:-
