Week 6 – Four ‘Go-le’ Palmer
Highest weekly score of 22 points for the Player of the Week, C. Palmer (£5.8m) scoring all four of Chelsea’s goals in the first half, a Premier League record !
Palmer’s haul moves him up to 54 points now for the season, closing the gap on a rare low scoring week for E. Haaland (£8.5m)
A better week for Midfielders in general, 5 of them make the Team of the Week including one to keep an eye on, D. McNeil (£3.4m) of Everton who takes the spot of M. Lemina (£3.0m) in the Team of the Season.
The only other change to the Team of the Season witnesses I. Konate (£3.9m) of Liverpool replace his teammate V. van Dijk (£5.1m). At £3.9m Konate is the second cheapest player in the Team of the Season, McNeil being the best value points scorer.
Other good value for money players that don’t quite make the Team of the Season include:-
players highlighted last week, R. Sanchez (£3.4m), and N. Jackson (£4.0m) of Chelsea and B. Mbuemo (£3.9m) of Brentford,
aswell as L. Cook (£2.8m) and A. Semenyo (£2.8m) of Bournemouth and L. Delap (£2.5) of Ipswich may also be worth a look at as budget team ‘enablers’.
Brentford, Everton and Ipswich all have easier forthcoming fixtures too although Bournemouth, Liverpool and Chelsea especially, do not….
As always the above reports can be found on our Player Stats Portal where you can apply your own filters to draw out insights.
Final mention this week is for Spurs (seeing as all other London clubs have been covered in recent weeks and the author wouldn’t want to appear biased😂). A superb humbling of the hapless Man Utd at Old Trafford sees them jump up four places in the Team Overview:-
They feature in the Top 5 in all team metrics including, perhaps surprisingly, Goals Conceded where they match the much lauded Arsenal defence!
With a relatively easy run of fixtures over the next five game weeks (before they face Man City away), lets have a look at some of the best Spurs player options:-
H. Son (£6.4m) and J. Maddison (£5.2m) are the obvious ‘premium’ options, although at time of writing there is a slight injury doubt for Son. B. Johnson (£3.6m) stands out as a far cheaper option and alongside C. Romero (£3.5m), G. Vicario (£3.3m) and M. van de Ven (£3.4m) represents the best value for money.
P. Porro (£3.8m) is the most popular Spurs player with gamers with 20% of gamers picking him although, the one to watch out for is the previously injured ‘focal’ striker D. Solanke (£4.4m) who is £2m cheaper than Son, joint second most popular Spurs pick with gamers, up 2% from last week….although is still nearly £0.6m more expensive than the higher points scoring Johnson….
