Week 16 – Alexander (Isak) the Great

Week 16 – Alexander (Isak) the Great

A quick catch up following our pre-xmas winter break ! 😆 and a look towards a busy festive period…

M. Salah (7.2m) is our Star Man of the Week AND furthers his lead as Star Man of the Season:-

He’s now closing in on E. Haaland’s (£8.5m) 9 week run as the season’s top scorer. It’s hard to imagine anything other than a serious injury halting him or indeed Liverpool….but, strange things do happen, witness Haaland and City’s unbelievable fall from grace?! More on that anon…

A. Isak (£5.1m) is the other stand-out player this week, his first hat-trick in the Premier League brings him in as second to Mo in the Team of the Week and Isak’s great recent form see’s him replace B. Mbuemo (£3.9m) in the Team of the Season.

J. Pickford (£3.7m) reflects Everton’s recent upturn in form and run of clean sheets – he replaces A. Onana (£4.1m) as the Season’s best keeper.

So, back to City’s enjoyable fall from grace 😂 – in the last, god knows how many years?! we surely haven’t seen them this far down the Team Stats :-

In 12th place, their % Picked By has dropped 9% this week as gamers finally lose patience with their players. Their Pts per £m is the lowest of all clubs at just 140.6 and, Haaland aside who is hanging on to his place in the Team of the Season, City do not appear on ANY ! of the Top 5 Team metrics.

Their next highest scoring player is J. Gvardiol (£4.5m) on 55 points, nearly half that of E. Haaland (£8.5m).

All quite remarkable (and hilarious lol) although, if there is a saving grace they do have favorable fixtures forthcoming…. could the festive period finally witness a City bounce back?

The other main pre-Xmas talking point is the injury to B. Saka (£5.8m), at time of writing his availability is unknown, as always check the Player Stats Portal for latest reports and data :-

Whilst Saka is marked as ‘currently being assessed’, Mikel Arteta is notoriously evasive with the press when providing updates on his injured players (much to the frustration of Fantasy Football gamers !)

9% of Gamers have already moved Saka out though so, it would appear very likely he is set for a spell on the sidelines…

So, who to replace him with should he turn out to actually be injured and if you are one of the 43% of gamers who haven’t already replaced him…?

We’d suggest the aforementioned A. Isak (£5.1m) would be a strong choice if you have a free striker spot.

Free scoring Tottenham attackers (take your pick !) are also good options – J. Maddison (£5.2m), D. Solanke (£4.4m), H. Son (£6.4m) and D. Kulusevski (£4.8m)

For a nice and cheap option, perhaps to free up funds, J. Murphy (£2.9m) of Newcastle has also been on spectacular form over the last 3 game weeks…

Thanks for reading, we’ll be back with a blog and data update before the New Year, until then, Happy Xmas !!! 😊👍
