Week 27 – Time to (temporarily?!) replace Mo…?

A very low points scoring week this, certainly as far as the Team of the Week is concerned, a total of just 97 points which is the third lowest this season !

M. Cucurella (£3.4m) is star man grabbing Chelsea’s winner against Leicester and a clean sheet also. Cucurella pips M. Salah (£7.3m) to the award this week courtesy of his cheap price tag.
As for the remarkable Mo, another 12 points leads to his 10th appearance in the Team of the Week, surely no-one will catch him or Liverpool now, even with two blank game weeks coming up now for Liverpool.
For the first time I think this season, the Team of the Season remains exactly the same from last week, the only item of note is B. Fernandes (£6.4m) moving up level with C. Palmer (£5.8m) as joint highest scoring midfielder.
Same as last week, a simple swap of E. Haaland (£8.5m) for C. Wood (£3.5m) gives you an affordable Team of the Season :-

We’ve mentioned Liverpool’s two blank game weeks, our TFF version of the Fixture Ticker, located and updated on the Player Stats Portal :-

also highlights Newcastle joining Liverpool, with no games now till Week 30 (although, unlike Liverpool Newcastle do double in game week 32). Villa and Palace only have their cup games in Week 29 so, were you to have (usually) rested for Cup players from those sides e.g. D. Henderson (£2.8m) – like the author 😆- that’s another player who won’t feature again till Week 30.
Bournemouth, Brighton, City and Forest are still the teams to look to for replacements of the blanking clubs I’d say – we covered the best options in last weeks blog and I wouldn’t say they’ve really changed, with the exception of the returned from injury and scoring Evanilson (£3.8m) of Bournemouth.

The Six Week Form rank highlights M. Sels (£3.2m) as a great option if you need a new keeper as he’s been starting Forest’s cup games. J. Pedro (£3.3m) of Brighton has played himself back into form and takes Brighton’s penalties so is also very worthy of consideration.

Try tweaking the Game Week slicer to get differing tables of form on the Player Stats Portal, a four week form view also highlights Pedro and Sels, whilst bringing into consideration B. Verbruggen (£3.0m), Y. Minteh (£2.9m) and J. van Hecke (£2.8m) of Brighton.
Good luck now in navigating the disrupted fixture schedule, a key part of success in TFF (or indeed FPL and chip strategies) is saving your transfers for these disrupted game weeks as well as maximising your transfer points with the inter-week kick off days and times :-

for example, out of the four teams discussed already we can see it is Forest who play BEFORE the return of Liverpool and Newcastle (Salah, TAA and Isak etc) i.e. if you’re temporarily replacing Salah and co before bringing them back from Game-week 30, you’ll get an extra game from Forest replacements e.g. C. Wood (£3.5m) in for Salah or any of the cheap Forest defenders in for TAA :- gets you 3 extra games ! 😊

NB – Fulham also would give you 3 extra games but, there aren’t any obvious candidates from them..? :-

Maybe a gamble on R. Muniz (£3.4m) or R. Jimenez (£3.8m), were you to say have Wood already…
