Week 30 – Maximising points via the fixtures

Week 30 – Maximising points via the fixtures

Back to the Premier League with a bang ! and a double game week for all teams has hopefully led to some large points hauls for your sides. 😊

Evanilson (£3.8m) of Bournemouth continues his fine goalscoring run and is Week 30’s Star Player.

A. Iwobi (£3.5m) is the only change to the Team of the Season, pipping K. Mitoma (£3.6m) to the final place by courtesy of being £0.1m cheaper !

Injuries to TAA and Haaland leads to O. Aina (£2.4m) and B. Mbuemo (£3.9m) replacing them in the Affordable and Available Team of the Season. J. Kluivert (£2.7m) is currently an injury doubt and has missed the last two games, the aforementioned K. Mitoma (£3.6m) would be his replacement.

A key part to Telegraph Fantasy Football compared to other versions of the game is the ability to make transfers in between fixtures, either dates or kick off times on the same day.

Timed correctly, it’s possible, at the latter stages of the season like we’re in now, to get as many as three extra fixtures from a player transfer if timed correctly ! This is why its crucial to success in TFF to save as many transfers as possible to the tail end of the season (as much as some people enjoy making them, yes Mr Swift I’m looking at you…. 😆)

To assist I’ve made some changes to the TFF specific Fixture ticker, page 6 on the Player Stats Portal :-

No, you haven’t had one beer too many 😆 – I’ve justified the fixtures to the left and right on purpose within each game week to assist in quickly seeing who plays first and last within a game week ! E.g. in GW 31 City vs Palace is 12.30 k/o on the 12th April, and thus is far left, final fixture of the GW is Bournemouth v Fulham on the 14th April at 20:00 – so this s justified to the far right.

So for example if I have transfers to ‘use up’, from the below I can see that if I was to replace a Brentford player AFTER their home game in GW 32 against Brighton (Brentford ‘blank’ in GW 33) :-

and if I was prepared to sacrifice a hard fixture for Brentford away at Forest, I could bring in a replacement from Villa and get FOUR games before Brentford play Man Utd at home in GW 34.

Clever planning and use of transfers like in the above example can make a massive difference. in my opinion. to your final positions in your mini-leagues, unique of course to the Telegraph version of the game ! Let me know what you think in the comments… if this method is preferred I’ll work on it further, perhaps with actual date and time dividers or something….

I could even do a forthcoming week, maximise fixture transfers Tip of the Week or something….?

For example, forthcoming game weeks 31 and 32 we see Newcastle have two ‘green’ home games and three fixtures all bunched close together:-

If you were to replace a player from a team such as Forest after their early GW 31 fixture against Everton you could get three extra games from a Newcastle player before Forest play again ! And Forests next two games after that are red fixtures so, it could be a permanent transfer….but, one that has really increased the chance for points collection (Newcastle then face Ipswich at home on GW 33!)…

Right, I better move on before this Post turns into War and Peace 😆, let’s finish up with a quick glance at the players in form, page 7 on the Player Stats Portal :-

Focusing on the top 4 ranked teams for fixtures, which also happen to be the FA Cup Semi-finalists ! :-

There are quite a few options but, standing out to us in particular is Star Player of the Week, Evanilson (£3.8m) although Bournemouth aren’t so great as others in the fixture difficulty list.

From Palace, E. Eze (£3.9m) and D. Munoz (£2.7m) are the standouts. From Villa, we like L. Digne (£3.4m) and M. Rogers (£2.9m) although Villa being in Europe still, their players are something of a rotation risk in domestic games.

From Forest we’ve highlighted N. Milenkovic (£2.7m) and from City it’s still a struggle to find form players, Ederson (£4.6m) is the only City player to appear high up on this list with O. Marmoush (£4.9m) just about squeaking in there at the bottom.
