Week 12 – Marvelous Matheus Cunha

Welcome back from another tedious Inter-lull and what a spectacular weekend of Premier League action we were served up !

Manchester City’s abysmal form continued with a surprise 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Spurs and another blank weekend for former Player of the Season, E. Haaland (£8.5m)… that man just needs to stay humble… 😂

We’re going to come back to Star Player of the week, M. Cunha (£3.6m) shortly, M. Salah’s (£7.2m) 11 points moves him clear as the Star Player of the Season with 91 points, which is nearly double some of his Team of the Season team-mates !

A few changes to the Team of the Season, Arsenal’s first clean sheet since Week 4 means G. Magalhaes (£4.3m) returns to break Liverpool’s dominance of Defenders with the injured T. Alexander-Arnold (£5.2m) making way.

J. Maddison’s (£5.2m) 13 point haul against the hapless (feels great to write that ! 😆) champions Man (115) City means he takes B. Fernandes‘ (£6.4m) spot in Midfield, and N. Jackson (£4.0m) was on the score sheet again meaning he swaps in for B. Mbuemo (£3.9m).

Haaland’s fall from grace has led to a 7% drop in the % Picked By metric, considering he’s surrounded on the below by injured players, that’s quite staggering… 😯

As suggested in last week’s blog, Sundays fixtures was a chance to replace the mis-firing Haaland with other premium players, including M. Salah (£7.2m) :-

which was something a number of gamers obviously decided to do with a jump of 8% in % Picked By. Interesting to note that Salah is still only fourth in the % Picked By metric, behind Saka, Haaland and Cole Palmer. We’d expect that to change quite quickly in the coming weeks !

But, enough of the past, lets consider the future and look at the forthcoming fixtures :-

and with this in mind, we’ve highlighted some of the (not mentioned so far!) form players who also benefit from a kinder run of fixtures, as always all of these reports available on the Player Stats Portal :-

Wolves, Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea all have easier forthcoming fixtures so jumping out in particular is Star Player of the Week – M. Cunha (£3.6m) who over the last 6 weeks has rivalled Star Player of the Season Mo Salah ! At just £3.6m Cunha is surely a must buy, his Wolves teammate J. Gomes (£2.9m) is also worthy of consideration :-

and, with Cunha currently owned by just 3% of gamers ! (we expect THAT to change very quickly!) he and Gomes could be great differentiators.

The other players picked out are the more obvious B. Saka (£5.8m) and N. Jackson (£4.0m) and to a lesser extent, A. Isak (£5.1m).

Finally for this week’s blog we’ll turn our attention to North London with Spurs in particular enjoying a spectacular week but Arsenal also getting back to winning and clean sheet ways.

Tottenham are now Second in the total points scored, they top the number of Goals and Assists and even feature in the top 6 of Goals Conceded !

A tougher set of fixtures to come for Spurs but the above players, led by J. Maddison (£5.2m) are all surely worthy of consideration, although B. Johnson (£3.6m) is currently showing as an injury risk.

Arsenal player options would seem to be more obvious:-

B. Saka (£5.8m) is the only obvious attacking pick with D. Raya (£4.3m) and G. Magalhaes (£4.3m) the best defensive options. Surprising to see T. Partey (£3.4m) in fourth place ! and with 46 points he’s only a few points behind some of the lowest scoring Team of the Season members !!
