Week 2 – Here comes Haaland

A big scoring Week 2 with hat-tricks for, who else but E. Haaland (£8.5m) and much more surprisingly N. Madueke (£3.6m), the Chelsea man pipping Erling to our Star Man of the Week courtesy of his much lower price tag.

Haaland does take over from D. Welbeck (£3.4m) as Star Man in the Team of the Season but Welbs does keep his place in an unusual formation of 5-3-2 (doubt this will last long!) :-

Aside from the predictable and popular C. Palmer (£5.8m) and B. Saka (£5.8m), Midfielders are yet to score well this season with a multitude of higher (14+) points scoring Defenders and even Keepers than the next best Midfielder K. Mitoma (£3.6m)

Spurs’ 4-0 demolition of the so far, hapless looking Everton leads to 3 of their players making the Team of the Week including better value defenders C. Romero (£3.5m) and M. van de Ven (£3.4m). P. Porro (£3.8m) also joins C. Romero in the Team of the Season.

H. Son (£6.4m) is the third Spurs player in the Team of the Week and this has helped Tottenham jump 6 places in the Team Overview on the Player Stats Portal :-

Chelsea also jump 6 places although, interestingly their % Owned By is unchanged whereas there was a great fire sale at Spurs of -14%, although that of course was mainly gamers ditching the popular but now injured D. Solanke (£4.4m):-

the non starting J. Brainthwaite (£3.0m) and P. Foden (£5.4m) being other pre-season popular picks being ditched by gamers.

As predicted last week, gamers are bringing in Brighton players (+8%) after their bright start and good value:-

with K. Mitoma (£3.6m) and D. Welbeck (£3.4m) proving to be fairly popular picks although not as popular as T. Livramento (£2.9m) and Liverpool players (+14%) such as D. Jota (£5.3m) and M. Salah (£7.2m)

If you are considering changes don’t forget to consider the forthcoming fixtures before perhaps jumping on the Spurs or Brighton wagon – those two teams rank near bottom of the Fixture Difficulty table:-

Final word then this week to our Star Man of the Week (clearly we’re not from Wolverhampton !) – N. Madueke….. 😆
