Week 3 – Erling ‘Hat-trick’ Haaland
So, another week, another hat-trick for Star Man of the Week and Season, E. Haaland (£8.5m). That said, whilst the majority of gamers, 54%, do own him (+2% from last week) nearly half of gamers don’t and M. Salah (£7.2m) in second place with 30 points from just 3 games, is owned by just 25% of gamers.
The Team of the Week and now Team of the Season are dominated by Liverpool players with A . Becker (£4.5m), A. Robertson (£5.0m), T. Alexander-Arnold (£5.2m), V. Van Dijk (£5.1m) and I. Konate (£3.9m) giving Liverpool a clean sweep of the defensive positions, added to by M. Salah (£7.2m) and L. Diaz (£5.1m) up top.
No midfielders are scoring well mind you from Liverpool and the trend of only B. Saka (£5.8m) – who is the most consistent presence in the Team of the Season having been there for all three weeks – and C. Palmer (£5.8m) scoring high from the Midfield choices this season, continues into the International break.
Yet to concede a goal this season, Liverpool still top the Team Overview :-
They actually top 4 out of the 5 Team metrics (Assists also) and are joint second only to Erling Haaland, sorry, Man City 😂 in goals scored. Liverpool are even second (behind Brighton) in Pts per £m yet are less popular with gamers and behind City, Arsenal and Newcastle (surprisingly?) in total % Picked By…
A key element to Fantasy Football is to identify the better value ‘enablers’ as early as possible, by using the Player Overview, Page 5 on the Player Stats Portal we can order by Pts Per £m :-
A. Becker (£4.5m) and M. Lemina (£3.0m) stand out as the best value members of the current Team of the Season both with 5+ Pts Per £m. Also of note this week are the Brentford and Bournemouth attacking players featuring at the top of this list, in particular A. Semenyo (£2.8m), Y. Wissa (£3.3m), L. Cook (£2.8m), M. Tavernier (£2.8m) and B. Mbuemo (£3.9m).
That being said, Brentford have a favourable run of fixtures AFTER week 6 but, Bournemouth’s run is looking far tougher, as indeed is poor Wolves’s ! :-
The Weekly Form Comparison now starts to become of more use and further highlights the value of B. Mbuemo (£3.9m) and A. Semenyo (£2.8m) :-
Final word this week then has to go to the remarkable Erling Haaland, any doubts about his highest ever player valuation of £8.5m have been swiftly addressed… and with an average of 9 games per hat-trick, surely the 44% of gamers who DON’T have him in their side will be frantically trying to remedy this before Week 4…. ?
