Week 37 – TFF 24/25 belongs to Liverpool (Mo Salah) and Palace

Well, another Premier League season comes to a, rather underwhelming, climax – with the League Title and Relegation battle settled quite some time ago it was only European places left to be decided, with City, Chelsea and Newcastle joining Liverpool, Arsenal and Europa League winners, Spurs in the Champions League next season. Villa and Forest were the sides to miss out.
The final Team of the Week is made up of some less familiar names ! :-

I. Gundogan (£5.0m) of City just pipping J. Strand Larsen (£2.8m) and A. Semenyo (£2.8m) to the Star Player of the Week award.
Perhaps the most exciting outcome of the final week of the season😂 was D. Henderson (£2.8m) of Palace making his debut in and replacing M. Sels (£3.2m) in the Team of the Season.
What a season it has been for Cup winners Palace – they finish with three players in the Team of the Season, Henderson is joined by the best defender D. Munoz (£2.7m) and E. Eze (£3.9m).

A fourth Palace player, T. Mitchell (£3.1m) also debuts in the Affordable and Available Team of the Season, replacing J. Gvardiol (£4.5m) / Real Madrid bound T. Alexander-Arnold (£5.2m) to bring it under budget.
And, a final tip of the hat to the remarkable Star Player of the Season M. Salah (£7.2m) who tailed off as the season concluded but fittingly scored on the final day and finished with 274 points ! – some 66 points clear of his closest rival – A. Isak (£5.1m) Salah was the top scoring player for 27 out of the 37 weeks.
Finally for now we’ll look at the final team positions, Page 10 on the Player Stats Portal :-

Some interesting results here – Champions Liverpool top all metrics except for Goals Conceded where Arsenal came out on top. But, only one Liverpool player (Salah) in the Team of the Season… and the closest next Liverpool player was TAA (£5.2m) who won’t be in next seasons game!
Arsenal had the meanest defence and finished as Runners Up but, no Arsenal defenders or keeper anywhere near the Team of the Season and Arsenal finish 7th in the overall table ! Clearly an injury ravaged back line for them and not enough attacking returns (although star man B. Saka (£5.8m) was missing for half the season)…
Deposed Champions Manchester City instead finish second on the majority of the metrics with a strong end to the season and cup run. Forest and Palace did next best (ahead of Champs League qualifiers Chelsea, Newcastle and Arsenal !)
With no tournaments of note this summer, we’ve plenty of time this summer to analyse the 24/25 season further 😆 We’ll therefore do a ‘deep-dive’ into some of the insights from this season, probably of most use when the TFF 2025/2026 game data is released….
Until then, thanks for reading and hopefully your teams have finished strongly and you gained some use from the portal and blogs ! – for reference, my team finished in the top 500 in the country with 2042 points (the overall winner scored 2229 !) :-

so, there must be some benefits to our reporting model and insights right…?! 😊
See you for next season where we predict Salah and Haaland to ‘swap’ in £ value ?!
