Week 4 – One Nil, to the Arsenal….
An interesting weekend of results, those of us of a certain vintage will recall the legendary Arsenal defence of the early 90’s, Arsenal’s steadfast defending this week in the North London derby could have been straight from a George Graham side…?!
Coupled with Forest’s shock 1-0 win at Anfield, we see a straight swap of Liverpool defenders and goalkeeper in the Team of the Season…. to that of Arsenal, with the exception of A. Robertson (£5.0m) who just about hangs on to his place being the cheapest of the ever present Liverpool defensive set:-
The rest of the Team of the Season is unchanged, including of course E. Haaland (£8.5m) who extends his lead at the top of the player points list with another brace – a remarkable half century of points with only 4 games played !!!! 😯 He’s not far off double the points scored of the rest of the 11 – next week we see City host Arsenal, who will come out on top, Haaland vs the Arsenal backline….?!
R. Sanchez (£3.4m) of Chelsea top scores this week with 14 points, he was actually followed closely by another keeper, A. Onana (£4.1m) of Man Utd who notched 13 points – we had the very unusual scenario this week of two keepers both keeping clean sheets and making a penalty save each! Sanchez got the extra point for number of saves.
M. Lemina (£3.0m) maintains his place in the Team of the Season and considering he’s notching points still despite Wolves’ tough run of fixtures, at just £3m he could well be one of this season’s budget ‘enablers’…?
We had picked out Y. Wissa (£3.3m) of Brentford as another cheap ‘enabler’ to consider…. until we realised he’s now injured and out till November !!!😆 :-
And, Brentford now move into a favorable set of forthcoming fixtures:-
A few enhancements have been made to the Player Stats Portal, should be self explanatory but there are usually Information buttons and tooltips that can be clicked on for more detail :-
Try using the filters to help with possible Transfer Ins e.g. Position and Value on the above or, a team with favorable forthcoming fixtures such as Brentford below:-
Finally then, lets have a look at Nottingham Forest after their highly impressive 1-0 at Anfield :-
We can see they’ve moved up 2 places into 5th on the Overall points scored and have the joint (with Brighton) second best number of goals conceded, just 2. They have the highest (Brighton second) Pts £m and only 27% Picked By i.e. Forest players could be a good way of differentiating yourself from rival gamers…?
Forthcoming fixtures difficulty is reasonable and ordering the player list by Pts Per £m:-
We see some Forest players in and amongst names already mentioned on this blog – considering their Defensive prowess, the cheap Defensive options of Murillo who is just £2.3m, O. Aina (2.4m) and the keeper M. Sels (£3.2m) maybe worth consideration…..?
Next week will be interesting, much like Haaland vs the Arsenal defence we have Brighton vs Forest ! Perhaps hold fire for one more week to see the outcome of those fixtures before committing to those changes….. 😊
