Week 7 – West Ham on the Up? and Time to ditch Mo?

Week 7 – West Ham on the Up? and Time to ditch Mo?

Some West Ham players finally make it into the Team of the Week, aside from a brief appearance from the Goalkeeper, A. Areola (£3.3m) in Week 2, The Hammers have made a very underwhelming start to the season.

TFF ‘veterans’ will not be surprised to see J. Bowen (£5.3m) and Star Man of the Week – M. Antonio (£4.4.m) leading the way for West Ham this season. Bowen is the most popular West Ham player with gamers, owned by 9% and is actually the joint third highest scoring Midfielder with M. Kovacic (£4.0m) on 35 points.

Kovacic’s two goals this week earns him a place in the Team of the Week and also moves him into the Team of the Season, replacing D. McNeil (£3.4m). Other changes to the Team of the Season see’s the great value for money, on form and with good forthcoming fixtures, B. Mbuemo (£3.9m) enter the TotS for the first time this year and V. van Dijk (£5.1m) replace his teammate, A. Robertson (£5.0m) who was dropped to the bench for yet another Liverpool clean sheet (just two goals conceded this season!).

West Ham and now Liverpool have some tougher fixtures coming but, Man City have a better run so with Rodri (£4.4m) out for the season, Kovacic could be a well priced midfielder to consider bringing in..

Our final thought this week before we head into another ‘interlull’ 🙄 – filtering the Player overview report on the Player Stats Portal and looking at strikers ordered by Pts Per £m :-

it’s interesting to note the very recent decline in form of the super expensive E. Haaland (£8.5m) although, it would take a brave gamer to write the Star Man of the Season off just yet?! 😂

M. Salah (£7.2m) though, is perhaps a different story, he doesn’t even appear on the above graphic (Strikers ordered by Pts per £m)

Where Salah does feature prominently, alongside all the injured players ! and E. Eze (£3.9m) and the displaced L. Diaz (£5.1m), is as one of the most sold assets this week with 3% of gamers ‘ditching’ him :-

With a score of 6.4, Salah is exactly half the Pts per £m score of L. Delap (£2.5m) of Ipswich (12.8), who also happen to have an easier run of fixtures.

Selling the out of form Salah, were you to own him, would free up funds for some of these in form players :-

the super consistent top scoring Midfielders C. Palmer (£5.8m) and B. Saka (£5.8m) aswell as the excellent value for money B. Mbuemo (£3.9m), I. Konate (£3.9m) and perhaps even a gamble on the super cheap ‘enabler’ L. Delap (£2.5m)….. ?!
