Week 4 – Erling back on top

Great to be back from another tedious Inter-lull – the fixture list is full now, especially with the additional Carabao Cup fixtures, up until another International break in early October 🙄

A three way tie for Player of the Week – M. van de Ven (£3.3m) takes the award due to the lowest price, a brace of goals for M. Zubimendi (£4.1m) and E. Haaland (£8.3m) scores those two 12 points also this week.

Haaland, just about, takes the Player of the Season spot for the first time this year, and moves him further ahead of M. Salah (£7.7m) in the battle of the Fantasy Football Superstars – Salah’s last gasp penalty conversion gets Liverpool out of jail again !

Player of the Week – M. van de Ven (£3.3m) replaces T. Chalobah (£3.3m) in the Team of the Season, M. Caicedo (£3.9m) replaces I. Ndiaye (£3.2m).

The fixtures are coming in thick and fast now with Carabao Cup ties being played over the next two game weeks. Expect some heavy rotation, especially from the teams in Europe who are facing lower division sides…

Quite a lot of transfer activity from gamers this week:-

The 5% who brought in E. Haaland (£8.3m) will likely be patting themselves on the back, as will the 3% of gamers (belatedly!) waking up to A. Semenyo’s (£3.1m) good value, Semenyo is now the second highest % picked by, joining Salah and Haaland in the top 3 most selected players.

Sorting the Player Overview report, Page 5 on the Player Stats Portal by Pts Per £m :-

we can see some other potential cheap ‘Enablers’ aswell as Semenyo – Palace defensive players such as C. Richards (£2.6m), D. Henderson (£3.1m) and M. Lacroix (£3.0m) join Defensive players from Tottenham such as top scoring goalkeeper G. Vicario (£3.3m) and Player of the Week and Team of the Season defender M. van de Ven (£3.3m).

Spurs and Palace join Arsenal as the best defences with just one goal conceded so far this season ! :-

Finally, let’s spare a thought for the 6% of gamers who ditched C. Palmer (£6.2m), especially if it wasn’t to bring in Haaland, only to watch him come off the bench, score one and very nearly get another ! 😆

Gamers seem to also be losing faith with players from Forest aswell as Aston Villa, but, this could be a mistake also with Forest and Villa facing a good run of fixtures…. patience can be a virtue in TFF with our limited budget of transfers…. 😊
