Week 20 – Top 4 stutter, resurgent United…?

Carabao Cup semi-finals started the week and thus it was a double game week for Chelsea, Arsenal, City and Newcastle players, this is reflected in the Team of the Week with B. White (£4.5m) this week’s Star Player with 16 points :-

J. Pickford (£3.8m) replaces R. Roefs (£2.6m) in the Keeper spot for Team of the Season, with E. Fernandez (£4.3m) taking M. Rogers’ (£3.8m) spot in Midfield.

Man (115 charges, remember those?!) City continue their policy of buying success and are purchasing the Team of the Season it would seem 😆 signing A. Semenyo (£3.1m) now the second highest player in the game (and catching the mis-firing E. Haaland (£8.3m)?!) and M. Guehi (£3.6m) now a confirmed transfer from Palace.

Its always useful to keep an eye on fellow gamers transfer movements, gamers continue to pile in on G. Magahlaes (£4.5m) following his return from injury, in the last two weeks his ownership has increased by a whopping 14 % ! :-

Out of form P. Foden (£5.4m) on the other hand has been ditched by 9% of gamers over the last two weeks with E. Eze (£4.6m) and J. Mateta (£4.2m) also continuing to be sold. The 4% of knee-jerking gamers who sold Team of the Season member M. Guehi (£3.6m) may come to regret it mind you ?! his transfer to City is now confirmed and he’s set to go straight into that City back four !

We have a couple of non-double game weeks now before the Cup fixtures re-commence:-

three of the Carabao Cup semi-finalists still top the fixture difficulty rankings, Chelsea, Arsenal and City but, some less obvious teams are now sneaking in there, those being Burnley, Fulham, West Ham and Sunderland.

From the Player Stats Portal, we’ll look at two pages that are useful for spotting form players:-

Appearing on both of these prominently would be A. Semenyo (£3.1m) – his transfer to City has temporarily scewed his form calculations !, B. Guimaraes (£4.2m), J. Pickford (£3.8m) although beware Everton’s exit from the Cups and tricky league fixtures.

E. Fernandez (£4.3m), H. Wilson (£2.9m) and J. Garner (2.9m) (Everton!) appear on both form guides along with (just about!) I. Thiago (£3.6m) and the above are all very worthy considerations.

F. Wirtz (£5.0m), J. Frimpong (£4.4m) and P. Dorgu (£2.9m) may also come into your thinking, potentially resurgent United are out of both Cups and have a trip to Arsenal next but, Dorgu is categorised as a Defender but played (and scored!) from the left wing, controversially displacing M. Cunha (£4.0m) at the weekend…. maybe worth a cheap punt, especially AFTER the Arsenal fixture…
